Obama Queen, stage name of Baye Dame Dia, is a Senegalese drag queen and performer, well known within the Italian drag scene and to the wider public through her television appearances. She began her artistic journey at a very young age in the early 2000s under the name Naomo, later adopting the name “Obama,” inspired by the election of the first African American President of the United States.
She gained national recognition through her participation in Big Brother Italy in 2018 and later competed in the second season of Drag Race Italia in 2022. Obama Queen took her first steps as a comedic drag performer at Alibi and later performed at Splash Roma, where she began developing her artistic identity under the same brand. It was on the stage of Muccassassina, however, that she truly found her voice as a performer—a true stage lioness.
Eclectic, iconic, and instantly recognizable wherever she appears, she is now one of the leading figures of Rome’s drag and LGBTQ+ entertainment scene. Today, she continues her artistic journey as a Host for the brand, bringing charisma, hospitality, and vibrant energy to Splash Roma events.
